How often do you pause to appreciate what you have in life?

Hey , Pretty and Good- Looking  Readers I'm Back! Sorry, I 'm just busy this past few days..
How are you ?  I hope you are ALL happy and appreciate what you have in life :)

Let me share this to you all...

When I was young, I took things for granted. I believe many other kids did so, as well. After all, we were young and we didn’t know what life could be like on the other side.
One thing we took for granted was education. In my country, it’s compulsory for all kids to go to school, so it was a given. We never thought about how lucky we were to be educated.
We also took our teachers for granted. We never thought about how lucky we were to have teachers who cared for our growth so much, and poured their heart and soul into their lessons.
Then slowly as I grew up, I began to appreciate things around me more. As I saw more and more of the world out there, I realized all the things I’d been given are not rights, but privileges.

I realized the world is so beautiful yes it is, and we’re lucky to live in such an amazing world.
Sometimes it’s easy to feel bad because you’re going through a tough time in life. However, remember that no matter how bad your situation may seem, there are tens of thousands of things to be grateful for in life.

The Real Happiness.

Happiness is the one thing we all want most in this life, the one thing most of us will spend a good deal of our time searching for. In fact, I'm willing to bet that you are looking for happiness right now. If so, I hate to be the one to tell you this, but you're never going to find it.

The fact that any of us are even looking for happiness means that we don't quite understand it. I wasted a lot of time in pursuit of my own little piece of happiness before learning that I was wasting my time. Let me explain. Happiness does not and cannot exist on its own in nature.
Happiness is not a commodity that can be bought or paid for. It is also not some wily creature living in the dark corners of the earth, laughing at our attempts to capture it. And it is not a object that merely attaches itself to a person, a place, or an event, and then waits for us to run into it someday.
No, the reason that you will not find happiness is because it cannot be found. To have it, one must first create it.

Let me repeat, happiness is created. By you. By me.
You've probably heard that happiness is a choice. Having dealt with depression in my life, I have a hard time believing this idea. When the world around you has been sapped of its color, it is almost impossible to simply choose to feel happiness. Likewise, sometimes we face challenges that seem totally insurmountable, and our hearts are twisted so tightly that it feels as though all the happiness has been simply wrung out. "Choosing" to put that happiness back would be like attempting to put an egg back into its broken shell.

Creating happiness is different. When you create happiness, you are building something new -- something that didn't exist before. You are not simply filling the void of an old happiness that you have lost. You have to work to make something unique that will open up spaces in your heart you never knew existed, and re-inflate that heart in a new way.

Learning to create happiness is not always easy, and it doesn't happen overnight. I wasted a lot of time early in life thinking, I'll be happy when... I'll be happy when I go to college... I'll be happy when I graduate college... I'll be happy as soon as I begin a real career... I'll be happy when I get married and have a family... But as I started to reach some of those milestones, I was disappointed to find that the happiness that I had imagined secured to them was not there.

So I decided to change. I decided to try creating my own happiness. When life was hard, I would take a deep breath and step away from life. Creating happiness can be as simple as that. It can be taking time to notice the beauties around you. It can be painting a picture, participating in a hobby, or doing something nice for someone in need.

Do something that you enjoy, try something new, tackle something big that you've always wanted to do. Don't be afraid to be silly or to mess up. Just go for it! You are bringing something new into existence! Put your all into it, and you will be able to feel happiness being created. Involve others -- people you care about like friends and family -- and you will be almost sure to create happiness.
I created happiness in other ways as well. I found ways to serve others and to take joy in menial tasks. When I put my heart into creating happiness, I found that it was easy to carry around with me. There was no longer a need to wait for it to fall into my lap.

Sure, I still have bad days, hard weeks, and even devastating months. But I know that no matter what happens, happiness will not evade me forever because I have the capacity within me to create it again. And you know what? I believe it is because I learned to do this that I was even able to achieve some of those goals that I used to dream would bring happiness to me! Creating happiness has helped me reach my goals, but more importantly, it has made life not only bearable but wonderfully enjoyable.

Please stop looking for happiness. You will never find it. Sometimes it may seem as though you have, but believe me if you didn't create it, what you have found will be both false and fleeting. The only real happiness is the kind you create for yourself.

Side note: If you're having a hard time getting started and aren't sure exactly how to make happiness, go do something nice for someone else. Service is one of the easiest ways to grow a little sprout of happiness, because it involves helping another to create their own.

One reason why I always end up getting hurt is because I fall in love so easily.

I don’t know, but I have always been weak when it comes to falling in love. I fall in love too fast, and when I say I’m in love, I’m in love too hard.
At the end of the day, I realized that I get my hopes up for something that won’t last, no not even gonna happen.

I believe true love does exist

When you get married with someone your suppose to be in love and happy with that person. Many people, mostly women, feel very strong about marriage, moving in, and starting a new family. I always ask myself “why do people need to get married to prove they love someone?” is it because they want to show off there brand new ring or just because they think they need to get married. Maybe there is different kinds of love, different kinds of feelings that get you to think you are in love, but your really not. Many individuals tend to confuse love with lust or like. So how will we ever really know if love exist or not? They say love is like magic, but if magic is just an illusion does that mean love is as well?
I always told myself I was too young to know what love was. Till this day I don’t know exactly what love is, I don’t even know if it really exist or not. There are some people who don’t believe in love because they most likely, either got there heart broken, never really been in love, don’t want to get hurt, or they just don’t care about it. Well, I do. I have gotten my heart broken, I believed I really was in love, and I will take the risk of getting hurt to find true love because I do care. I care because I know how happy love can make you feel, because I want to grow old with someone, and because I cant imagine life without my other half.
I know a lot of people who claim that they have been in love or that they are, but I find it very hard to believe. It almost never fails that whenever I ask someone what love is they respond “I don’t know” or “when two people really care about each other”. It is very interesting to me to hear different peoples outlook’s on love. My outlook on love changed. After ending a long term relationship (4th- exbf)  I learned a lot. I learned that what I felt wasn’t love. I realized that I didn’t really love that person I was with I was just so used to him. I broke his heart, not because I wanted to but because I wasn’t happy with him. When I ended our relationship I didn’t do it for anyone else, I did it because I knew that was exactly what I wanted. Little did I know that what I once thought love was, is nothing compared to what I think love is now.
I never thought I would experience love at such a young age, maybe I haven’t, but one thing I know for sure is exactly how I felt. When someone asks me what love is, I could respond. I don’t have to say “I don’t know” or “when two people really care about each other” because to me that’s not what love is, that’s not what I believe. I believe true love is when you will do anything to see that person happy, its when two people feel exactly the same about each other, when two people become one.
Love is out there and it’s the most beautiful feeling in life, love is everlasting and although it could be an illusion it’s the greatest adventure you will take. Its real, we live it, and we breath it. Love suffers all and is kind. Love does not envy, love does not parade itself, it does not behave rudely, it does not seek its own, it is not provoked, it thinks no evil, does not rejoice in inequity but rejoices in the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, and endures all things. Love never fails, take it and live it. I believe true love does exist.

Our Choices and Our Future

Always inspired by quotations like this one, I am a believer that our future is dictated by our choices. Not by fate, not by destiny. Yes, those two could be the inevitable… but I always think that I will have come to those places because of my own decisions. I won’t attribute it to the stars, the lines on my palm, or even the weird dreams in my subconscious for any event in my life. They come as blessings and trials. And how I take them – whether I accept them or I run away from them – will always be my choice. I know, I am sooo hard-headed like that.
Sometimes I think this philosophy of mine (which I share with at least somebody in the planet hopefully) is plain stupid. They say what happens, has to happen. But I just think it’s more stupid to just take things, especially the bad ones, and blame it to ‘what has been written”. I know I could be wrong…but at least I know I’ll never give up without putting up a God damn fight! Hahahahaha…
Maybe I am just one confused soul pretending to know where to go, don’t you think? Life really is complicated…especially as you grow older.

366 Kuya Lawrence Celebrates with Children’s Joy Foundation

AUGUST 30, 2014
Written by Kuya Harvard

Ate Ana Cortez gave us a call 2 and a half months before this birthday event of his 5 year old son, Lawrence with the kids. We acknowledge the fact that she was so willing and excited to celebrate with orphans of Children’s Joy Foundation. We share that enthusiasm with her.
The afternoon’s festivities were filled with two games, two entertainers, lots of food and gift giving to get both the kids and volunteers acquainted and comfortable with one another. It was a full house as volunteers from Standard Chartered Bank joined together with our sponsors friends. There were also 42 kids who participated.
The teens of Children’s Joy Foundation also performed as they serenaded Lawrence as we greet him a Happy Birthday. It was night time when we said our goodbyes to everyone. We ended with a group photo and hugs for one awesome celebration.
Thank you once again Ate Ana. U! Happy Events looks forward to having more Mothers partner with us for their kid’s special day. :)

449 Ate Ana Celebrates with Philippine Orthopedic Center

FEBRUARY 14, 2015
Written by Secretary, Glenn Costales

It was February 14 – a day to celebrate love and all its romantic gestures and expressions. One person however fancied a different way to spend this special day.
Having her birthday exactly on Valentine’s, Ate Ana Cortez, accompanied by her son Lawrence, put together an event at the Pediatric Ward of the Philippine Orthopedic Center in Quezon City. It was quite the turn out as well with Ate Ana’s family, friends and some more willing volunteers joining in on the early afternoon gathering.
A number of kids were still having their siesta when the team arrived. But when the music started, their curious minds began to turn and they were soon wide awake with anticipation.
The kuyas and ates then got right into it as they were instructed to look for their partner kids for the day. As they paired up, they made their acquaintances and were soon getting to know each other. It was just the tip of the iceberg though because the activities lined up intended to produce an intimate time between the volunteers and the kids.
Ate Dyali Justo of Adarna House soon had the mic and led a lively tale of a wonderful children’s story. It was a very engaging activity that aimed to encourage children to read as it highlighted the fun in reading.
Afterwards, the volunteers also got to try their hands in storytelling as they were given a storybook each to read to their kids. Following Ate Dyali’s example, the kuyas and ates spiritedly narrated their stories to the kids’ (and their parents’) appreciation. This really underlined the importance of reading even deeper. As the people of Adarna House would say, these activities “aim to develop a genuine love for reading among children through storytelling.”
As a final part of the program, and being Valentine’s Day of course, a couple of ‘obliging’ volunteers serenaded everyone with love songs – the perfect way to wind things down. Lunch was served and the volunteers got to bond with the kids for just a little bit more before saying goodbye.
Thank U! to Ate Ana Cortez, Lawrence and all the volunteers for making this day happen. While most people were out on romantic dates, they chose to express love in a much more pure way – the agape love for others – and they definitely deserve a lot of love for that.
